The German Research Foundation (DFG) has approved funding of an additional 14th PhD project within the Bonn and Melbourne Research and Graduate School.
This project will be led by Prof Stefanie Kürten, recently recruited as Director of the Institute of Anatomy at Bonn University, and Prof John Furness from the Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience at the University of Melbourne. Both PIs will join this international research training group (IRTG2168) with a joint PhD project between both locations for the third student cohort. The project focus is on the role of intestinal immunity in multiple sclerosis and the role of casein-expressing gut macrophages. The addition of a new project further extends existing collaborative successes between both locations to provide PhD candidates with the best possible training in an international setting.
