This allows candidates to complement their research training in aid of successful PhD completion but to also better secure their anticipated future employment. Training options include workshops, webinars or seminars and broadly target three key areas of development.

Research skills: Skills required for the successful completion of the PhD. Examples include methods and state-of-the art techniques workshops, thesis writing workshops, guidance on how to prepare an abstract, poster presentation workshops, ethics and integrity training, health and safety training for appropriate scientific practice and animal welfare training (ensuring compliance with the Federation of European Laboratory Animal Science Associations - Category B [FELASA B] regulations within Germany).

Transferable skills: We offer workshops aimed at developing specific skills in preparation for future employment. Topics include project management, principles in business, finance, communication, data analysis, presentation and leadership.

Career development: Workshops focusing on CV writing abilities and coaching to better prepare for interviews, as well as career days/events to showcase career opportunities within different sectors (including academia, industry, government or teaching).
