For his PhD thesis "Inflammation-dependent differentiation of two distinct regulatory T cell populations in the visceral adipose tissue shapes systemic metabolism" Santiago performed research in the laboratory of Prof Axel Kallies at the University of Melbourne and in the laboratory of Prof Marc Beyer at the University of Bonn.
